| For decades, Fairchild Imaging has remained
dedicated to providing the highest performance optical imaging systems
in the world. Our scientific camera detectors have been used to image everything from
stellar objects at the far reaches of the universe to the molecular
details of biological structures.
These scientific cameras find widespread use in such
varied applications as electron microscopy, high throughput screening (HTS), microarray and microtiter plate analysis, non-destructive testing (NDT), x-ray crystallography, x-ray
inspection and other high-perfomance imaging applications.
To capture, image and analyze complex scientific image data, Fairchild
Imaging has developed a line of low-noise, multiport, cooled scientific
cameras utilizing our large area focal plane array technology. We
routinely produce OEM CCD cameras utilizing wafer scale CCDs, bonded fiber
optics (tapers or faceplates), cooled to -60ºC with thermoelectric or cryogenic coolers. Our latest achievement is a 6cm x 6cm, 4K x 4K device
bonded to a 200mm fiber optic taper.
We have three families of scientific cameras:
• Condor — 6cm x 6cm CCD with various fiber optics & scintillators, cooled
• Harrier — high resolution CCD, uncooled
• Peregrine — high resolution front- and back-illuminated CCDs, cooled
Each of these systems feature:
• High-performance electronics to minimize readout noise at high speed
• Multiport readout to optimize speed & sensitivity
• Large imagers for high optical throughput
