We will be exhibiting two of our latest product offerings at the 2013 DSS - Defense, Security, & Sensing Exhibition in Baltimore, MD April 30 - May 2.  The first is our HD CMOS sensor which displays an unparalleled combination of ultra-low noise and large dynamic range in a low cost package that makes the product ideal for higher volume, price sensitive markets like surveillance & security and medical imaging.  The second is our VGA 17um pixel micro bolometer thermal imaging camera nodule.  this affordable, low power module is compact, easy to integrate and captures fast moving details in dynamic scenes with 60 Hz frame rates.  It has been designed from the bottom up to deliver affordable performance to Security and Surveillance, Weapons Systems, Automotive and Thermography solutions.  Please visit us in our booth, 2011 - see you at the show!

Fairchild Imaging to Demonstrate Image Sensor with Extreme Low Light Performance at ISC West 2013

Tue, 04/02/2013
April 10-12, 2013 In Las Vegas, NV - Booth #5135

Large Pixel Imager Delivers 35dB at 1 Lux f/1.2 Color

Las Vegas, April 10, 2013— Fairchild Imaging by BAE Systems, the premier supplier of large format, high performance CMOS image sensors, today announced that it will be demonstrating the extreme low light performance of its scientific CMOS (sCMOS) image sensor products at ISC West 2013.  Designed with mission critical performance in mind, Fairchild Imaging’s sCMOS image sensors deliver best in class low light performance with 35dB at 1 lux f/1.2 color, making them ideally suited for security, surveillance and intelligent transportation applications.

Fairchild Imaging’s sCMOS family delivers stunning <1.5 e- RMS readout noise and greater than 86dB intra-scene dynamic range via a proven 5T, 6.5-micron sCMOS pixel.  The sCMOS products offer rich feature sets and operational flexibility, making them ideally suited for high performance security cameras.

“sCMOS sensors utilize efficient light collection, combined with low noise electronics, to achieve high sensitivity, which enables the sensors to deliver images in low light situations where other imagers cease to be useful,” said Vern Klein, Director of Marketing for Fairchild Imaging.  “Our sCMOS sensors, including the CIS1910 1080p sensor and the CIS2521 5.5Mpix sensor, also provide high intra-scene dynamic range, without the need for multiple shots over time.  Such high dynamic range is made possible by an innovative dual digitizer approach combined with deep full well capacity.”

To learn more about sCMOS products for security, surveillance and intelligent transportation applications, please visit our booth at the ISC West tradeshow, April 10-12, 2013, Sands Convention Center, Las Vegas, booth #5135.  sCMOS datasheets are available for download from www.fairchildimaging.com.  Contact Kevin Heher (kevin.heher@baesystems.com) for pricing and delivery information.

Fairchild Imaging Showcases Cinema Quality Image Sensors at NAB Show 2013

Tue, 04/02/2013
Booth #C5648

Large Pixel Imagers Deliver Image Quality Without Compromise

Las Vegas, NV, April 8, 2013— Fairchild Imaging by BAE Systems, the premier supplier of large format, high performance CMOS image sensors, today announced that it will be exhibiting its cinema quality scientific CMOS (sCMOS) image sensor products at NAB Show 2013.  The cinema quality products, including the CIS1910 1080p sensor and the CIS2521 5.5Mpix sensor, provide camera makers with state of the art image sensor image quality, particularly in the areas of low light sensitivity, high dynamic range and high frame rate.

Fairchild Imaging’s sCMOS family delivers stunning <1.5 e- RMS readout noise and greater than 86dB (14 stops) intra-scene dynamic range via a proven 5T, 6.5-micron sCMOS pixel.  The sCMOS products offer rich feature sets and operational flexibility, making them ideally suited for professional cinema camera applications.

“In addition to excellent sensitivity and dynamic range, Fairchild Imaging’s sCMOS sensors also deliver the high speed capture performance needed by professional videographers,” said Vern Klein, Director of Marketing for Fairchild Imaging.  “Our sCMOS sensors can output 1080p video at 200 frames per second, and 720p video at 300 frames per second, making them ideally suited for advanced temporal quality enhancements as well as providing great slow motion replay.”

sCMOS sensors utilize efficient light collection, combined with low noise electronics, to achieve high sensitivity, which enables the sensors to deliver images in low light situations where other imagers cease to be useful.  High intra-scene dynamic range, without the need for multiple shots over time, is made possible by an innovative dual digitizer approach combined with deep full well capacity.   High frame rates, useful for monitoring dynamic events and performing inter-scene image processing, such as noise reduction and image stabilization, are generated by wide parallel processing and multiple, high capacity ADCs.

To learn more about sCMOS products for cinema camera applications, please visit our booth at the NAB Show, April 8-11, 2013, Las Vegas Convention Center, Central Hall booth C5648. sCMOS datasheets are available for download from www.fairchildimaging.com.  Contact Kevin Heher (kevin.heher@baesystems.com) for pricing and delivery information.
