Fairchild Imagings involvement in replacing
x-ray film with electronic imaging began in the 1980s with entry
into the dental and medical fields.
Fairchild Imaging's experience in dental x-ray
imaging began in 1988 with the development and manufacture of our
intra-oral sensor. Shortly
thereafter we developed a line of extra-oral x-ray sensors for
panoramic usage. Since that time Fairchild Imaging has supplied tens
of thousands
of imaging assemblies for both intra- and extra-oral use.
Fairchild
Imaging is also a technology leader in the use of electronic imaging
to replace x-ray film for spot mammography and biopsy mammography
applications. Our experience in x-ray imaging and wafer scale CCD
manufacturing core competencies have been combined in a patented
mammography cassette for OEM integrators. We are currently in the
process of expanding our mammography success into other medical
related CCD applications.
We currently have multiple product offerings and OEM customers
worldwide.
The following is a listing of both custom devices and available
CCDs along with their current applications:
- CCD 296 Extra-oral device configured
in a 1024 x 48, 45pm pixel time delay integration (TDI) device
butted end to end (up to four die) and mounted on a ceramic header.
- CCD 297 Our intra-oral sensor
utilizes a 800 x 640 full frame transfer architecture enhanced
by the use
of a patented clipped four corner design.
- CCD 447 2048 x 2048 full frame
imager for x-ray inspection
- CCD 449 2048 x 2048 39pm pixel
pitch interline transfer
- CCD 485 4096 x 4097 full frame
imager for mammography and other X-ray applications
- CCD 486 4096 x 4096 full frame
imager for mammography and other X-ray applications
